Shreyas Ganesh — Systems / distributed / database engineer.

Currently finishing an MS in Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of
Florida (May 2026, GPA 3.9). Bachelor's in CS from PES University, Bengaluru (2023).

Before grad school I spent 18 months at Wabtec on a production
Java + Apache Camel ingestion pipeline (198k entries/day), retuning Hazelcast cache
eviction TTLs, migrating data-warehouse tables to OLTP, and moving 100k+ XML payloads
out of DB blob storage into S3 — the kind of work that calibrates "what production looks
like" before grad school can tell you otherwise.

In graduate school I focus on two things:
  • Systems — lock-free concurrency (Vyukov MPMC + memory ordering experiments on
x86 TSO), Linux kernel modules (USB HID), DB internals (SQLite clone in Zig, Redis
clone in Python, Kafka wire protocol in Java).
  • Research — LLM-guided fuzzing seed synthesis (24k-LOC framework, 7 LLMs, 14k
cached calls, oracle-gated tool use); Deep-Q-Network-driven AFL++ mutator over a
    47-action space integrated via lock-free shared-memory IPC.

I ship to OSS: a merged ClickHouse PR (Arrow Flight Command descriptor
support for Dremio), substantive ScyllaDB PRs (alternator LWT shard-bounce). Currently
targeting pingora, turso, and cockroachdb for the next round.

I build from scratch on principle and don't present AI-generated code as my own. Every
line in any repo I link to, I can defend. That's why some impressive-sounding things
aren't on the resume.
